This Week In Tabletop Inspiration: Bluebird Lands in New York City!

London’s acclaimed Bluebird restaurant has found its nest in New York City, with tabletop sourced and supplied by the team behind LMT!

Overlooking Columbus Circle from the top of the Time Warner Center, a jewel box of a café opens into a posh, sweeping restaurant and bar space. Bluebird is a breath of fresh air for midtown Manhattan. Its airy, playful design is a soothing counterpoint to the city’s many odes to brooding art deco. However, just like its buttoned up peers, this new establishment from D&D Restaurant group is decked to the nines.

Upon entrance, a cozy lounge with plush, cloth-upholstered chairs and small café tables offer casual seating, perfect for afternoon tea in Villeroy & Boch’s Stella Hotel collection. To outfit the theme with perfection, cakes, scones, and tea sandwiches are served in Utopia’s new birdcage tiered stands from Hospitality Brands.

Smart, breezy design details and contemporary art stud the walls and encourage the guest to go deeper into Bluebird and explore the bar. This unique, rounded bar is at once tucked away and at center stage. The bar program is enhanced by its glassware and accessories; Serax Fish & Fish green glass jars are used creatively as garnish caddies for the bar and complemented by Hospitality Brands grenade-like bitters bottles. Our Nude Terroir coupe is an elegant cocktail solution and pairs perfectly with the Myriad Spiegelau stems selected for the space.

Once hydrated, we recommend ordering the crudités and other various green things – served as bursts of color in Aerts’ Blue Monte collection.

Don’t forget the flatware; Lazzo by Arc Cardinal is an added elegant touch of curves to this thoughtful tablescape.

What we love most about Bluebird’s tabletop selections is the level of detailed attention and curation. Brands specified and many of the products ultimately selected are identical to those used at the original London location, but expect a dash of Americana at the Manhattan outpost. Paderno’s ceramic mini pots with brass handles, used to serve side dishes like chips and macaroni and cheese, are just one of these signature touches.

Whether you know exactly what you need or want a bit of design direction, the team at LMT is here to help with your tabletop project! Request a showroom visit by sending an email to lmt@singerequipment.com.
